HOT AIR BALLOON

The first time man flew, it was in a hot air balloon!
It was 1783, and for the next century ballooning was the only way to fly.
The first airships were made out of paper and were heated with a straw fire.
Fortunately, technology has evolved. Today the envelope is made out of polyester
fabric sewn to a reinforced straps structure. Using special burners fed with propane,
there is no fear of fire. The bottom of the envelope is Nomex, a flame resistant meta-aramid
material developed in the early 1960's by DuPont.
Leaning on the thick leather edge of the enormous cane basket, you let yourself be transported
with the whims of the wind while admiring the majestic spectacle of nature.
As you soar above the magnificent Roannais region, you will discover a birds-eye view of the
Château de la Roche, the gorges of the Loire River, the lake at Villerest, the Monts de la Madeleine,
mediaeval villages, the côte Roannaise vineyards. Ballooning is undoubtedly the most poetic way of flying.!
