The Hot air balloon flight
Where ?
Our “Discovery Flights” are primarily in the Roanne or Lapalisse airport.
When ?
All year long, but always subject to good weather conditions, i.e. calm wind and good visibility. During winter, cold anticyclones allow particularly beautiful flights.
For reasons of comfort and safety, take-offs are scheduled for shortly after sunrise or in the evening with good weather conditions.
Unfolding
- Appointment with pilot in a place close to the take-off area.
- Checking of the tickets
- Technical explanations and pre-flight briefing.
- Setting-up and inflation of the balloon. You can take part !
- Boarding and taking-off.
During the flight
Balloons are not airships so flight at various altitudes is according to the pilot’s choice, the landscape and the wind. Each pilot remains in radio contact with Altibulle team members on the ground who meet the balloon and its passengers at the point of landing in their vehicles.
Return to Earth :
After your flight it’s time to share emotions, drink a "coupe de champagne" and put the balloon back in its cover. We return to the starting point in our chase vehicles.
Lenght of excurtion
Approximately 4 to 5 hours including 1 to 1.5 hours for the flight itself.
Advice
Hot air ballooning is for everyone - but is not recommended for pregnant women and young children. Comfortable shoes and sportswear are advised. Don’t forget your camera !
